Who We Are
Maryam Hair & Beauty is a ladies-only hair and beauty salon at 18 White Church Lane, Whitechapel, London E1 7QR, about 7 minutes’ walk from Aldgate East station. Since 2013 our all-female team has looked after women from across East London, from quick eyebrow threading to colour, facials and bridal makeup.
We are a hijab-friendly salon: every stylist and therapist is a woman, and hijab-wearing clients can uncover their hair in a screened, private area.

I’m Maryam, founder of Maryam Hair & Beauty. I come from an Asian Muslim background, and from a young age I wanted to work in beauty, a field that helps women feel confident. I have more than 18 years of experience in the beauty industry and hold Master’s degrees in Economics and Business Management.
Before opening the salon in late 2013, I helped other entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. That experience gave me the confidence to build a space made for women, where privacy, comfort and cultural values are respected.
