Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This privacy policy explains how Maryam Hair And Beauty collects and uses your personal information when you visit this website, contact us or book an appointment, and the rights you have under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

This website is run by Efficient Salon Consultants Ltd, trading as Maryam Hair And Beauty, 18 White Church Lane, London E1 7QR. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, contact us:

What information we collect

When you contact us through the website

Our contact form asks for your name, email address, the subject of your enquiry and your message. We use this to reply to you.

When you apply to be a model

The “Become a Model” form asks for your name, address, email address, phone number and a message, and lets you attach photos. We use this information and your photos only to review your application and contact you about it.

When you apply for a job

The “Join Us” form asks for your name, address, email address, phone number and a message about yourself. We use this only to consider your application.

When you call us or message us on WhatsApp

We keep the details you give us, such as your name, phone number and the appointment or question you are asking about, so that we can help you.

When you book an appointment

Most appointments are booked through Fresha or Treatwell. Those platforms collect your booking details and share them with us, such as your name, contact details, the service and time you booked and any notes you add. Fresha and Treatwell also have their own privacy policies, which apply to the information you give them.

When you visit the salon

For some treatments, such as hair colour, lashes, brows and semi-permanent makeup, we may carry out a patch test or consultation and record information that is relevant to your treatment, for example allergies or skin sensitivities. This can include health information. We collect it only with your consent and only to keep your treatment safe.

How and why we use your information

We only use your information for the purposes described above. The legal reasons we rely on are:

  • To provide our services (contract): to book, manage and carry out your appointments.
  • Legitimate interests: to answer your enquiries, review model and job applications, and run and improve our salon.
  • Consent: for any health information recorded at a patch test or consultation. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
  • Legal obligation: to keep records we are required to keep by law, such as accounting records.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share your information with

We only share your information when it is needed for the purposes above, with:

  • Booking platforms (Fresha and Treatwell), when you book with us through them.
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
  • Service providers that run our website, hosting and email on our behalf.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountants or HMRC, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, they are required to protect it with safeguards approved under UK data protection law.

Cookies and third-party content

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our website may use small technical cookies that are needed for it to work and load quickly.

Some pages show content from other companies, and those companies may set their own cookies or collect your IP address when the content loads:

  • Google Maps, used to show our location.
  • Google Fonts, used to display some of our text styles.

When you click a link to Fresha, Treatwell or WhatsApp, you leave our website and their privacy policies apply. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

How long we keep your information

  • Website and WhatsApp enquiries: up to 12 months after our last contact with you.
  • Model applications, including photos: up to 6 months, unless we work together.
  • Job applications: up to 6 months after the role is filled, unless you join our team.
  • Client and appointment records: for as long as you are a client and for a reasonable period afterwards. Financial records are kept for 6 years, as the law requires.

After these periods we securely delete or anonymise your information.

How we keep your information safe

We take appropriate technical and organisational steps to protect your information, and only staff who need it to do their job can access it. Our website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to restrict or stop using your information;
