IPL (intense pulsed light) hair removal uses gentle flashes of light to slow hair growth, so you shave and wax far less often. At Maryam Hair & Beauty, 18 White Church Lane, Whitechapel, every IPL treatment is carried out by a female therapist in our ladies-only salon, and hijab-wearing clients are welcome in our private area.

Hair grows in cycles, so IPL works as a course of sessions spaced a few weeks apart rather than a single visit. At your first appointment your therapist will check your skin and hair and tell you how many sessions to expect.
IPL works best on darker hair and is less effective on very light, grey or red hair. It is not suitable for every skin tone, which is why we look at your skin before we start and may suggest a patch test first.
